The heart of our city is the downtown community. We need to revitalize and create businesses, stores, restaurants, stadiums, and theaters for concerts, plays, and movies, good transportation, and, most importantly, ensure the safety of visitors and residents. Having a master’s in city management and Urban Planning, I understand exactly how to change the way a city looks also, my first internship was in Minneapolis under Don Fraser.
It will take the whole community to change how we look at our downtown area, and I have that kind of connection. I will work hard to engage the “village” to build our downtown area as it was. Downtown can be among the top 10 downtown's in a major city in the United States. People will want to return to a downtown area with stores, other activities, and even a farmers’ market. A revitalized live theater downtown ranked #2 outside of New York, can bring people back. Also, providing resources that can help the homeless and bring back safe streets where people can walk without fear can get people back and create a thriving community.
I can do this; I need your help.
